Welcome to the Striding Out blog. I’m so glad you are here! My name is Anna and I live in a smallish, mid-western town. You wouldn’t think a lot happens around here, but there is a lot of love, laughter and life in this little part of the country. Ever since I was a kid, I wanted to “get out” of the Midwest and explore the world. I wanted strut my stilettos in New York City. I wanted to trek across the Appalachian Mountains, living off of granola and berries. I wanted to surf, run and swim the California beaches. I never expected that I would find just as much love, excitement and fun in small town Indiana. I can still strut in my stilettos, mountain bike on trails and ski and swim in the Indy lakes. I may not be in the Midwest forever, but right now, I have a pretty sweet life.
I moved to the Hoosier state for college and have stayed ever since. I now have a full time job, a few part time jobs and a husband – Jordy – who hates that nickname but loves me more than life. I am a busy bee by nature and you will usually find me writing in my planner, trying to fit in our next big adventure.
Jordy and I were hitched in October 2013 and I now have a permanent playmate and life partner. I started this blog to chronicle memories while sharing workout tips, healthy recipes and random stories with friends and family. I am a runner, Zumba instructor and healthy living enthusiast. My husband is a natural athlete that loves crossfit workouts, strength training and football. We both enjoy extreme sports such as snowboarding,snow-skiing, mountain biking, water skiing, wakeboarding, hiking and anything else active we can get our hands or feet on.
The blog name “Striding Out” came from my love for running and the play on words it offers. A runner’s stride is something that can make or break their race and a good stride makes all the difference. Jordy and I are also striking/ “striding” out on our own as newlyweds and I want this blog to be a place I can look back and see all the memories we made in our first few years of marriage. Follow along as we navigate this sweet little Midwest life.
Just found your blog and love it :). I’m also a midwest girl at heart (moved to Colorado from Illinois last August) and am in the final stretch of wedding planning. I will absolutely be following the journey, as I know I can relate to much of it 🙂
Wow! We have a lot in common! Thanks girl–and Colorado?! I’m jealous, that is one of my dream locations!
